The automatic transmission C6 had been manufactured by Ford for trucks within the period from 1966 until 1996. It should be noted that it is the 1-st automatic transmission constructed to use the BW flexible shift band, which was supposed to increase gear shifting quality and durability of the transmission. It had disc clutch plates instead of bands on the low and reverse gears. It got new composite plates and valving. The torque capacity of this transmission equals to 644 Nm. The C6 transmission was applied in trucks and cars with large engines.
