Description

This part is New and fits your 4L85E. Main Shaft is an important part of 4L85E transmission. On go4trans.com you will find best deals from worldwide suppliers of New, Racing/High performance parts for 4L85E and other automatic transmissions.
Information about basic repairs for 4L85E can be read here.

The gears and clutches operate on the mainshaft, the gears move freely with respect to the main shaft, with the exception of cases when they are engaged by the clutches. The main shaft spreads outside the case biderctionally: the input shaft in the direction of the engine, and the output shaft in the direction of the back axle. The shaft is stopped by the crankshaft bearing, and is split towards the input end. At the point of the separation, a pilot-bearing keeps the shafts together.
