ZF has announced that it plans to start production of an 8-speed automatic transmission, named as ZF PowerLine, for medium-duty trucks at the NACV exhibition in the US. The new solution will hit the US automotive market in early 2021.

Recently, ZF has presented its new transmission solution for commercial trucks. This new 8-speed automatic gearbox is intended for commercial trucks in vocational applications up to 57 thousand pounds (25,855 kg).
