It is predicted that drivetrain technologies are expected to face significant alterations regarding dimensions, packaging and gearing as electrification trend continues to gain power in the automotive industry.

Some of the top suppliers of auto parts in Europe have seen downward trend in revenue over the last year, but Robert Bosch has been a noteworthy exception. The company’s Mobility Solutions subsidiary, which is actively involved in production of automobile elements, made a large part of company's revenue (60%) in 2018, 0.4 % growth in sales to € 47.6 bln.

At the 18th International VDI Congress “Drivetrain for Vehicles”, Schaeffler is showcasing its products for IC-engine, hybrid, and electrified powertrains, which will give a new impulse to further development of automobile technologies corresponding to current environmental standards.

In late 2017 Schaeffler Group, a major supplier of automobile and industrial equipment, announced acquisition of the whole share package of Compact Dynamics from SEMIKRON. Schaeffler previously bought the controlling interest (51%) and now the bargain was related to the rest 49 % of shares.
