Recently, ŠKODA AUTO’s transmission manufacturing facility in Vrchlabí, one of the most technically advanced VW’s sites, has produced the 3-millionth DQ200 automatic direct-shift transmission (DSG). This landmark event underlines the plant’s importance within VW’s global production network. It is said that currently the factory in Vrchlabí manufactures approximately 2,200 DSG units every day.
AW Texas, an affiliate of Aisin AW Co. Ltd., broke ground on its 3-rd transmission production facility in the US. The 159-acre plant, placed in Cibolo, TX, will be specialized in manufacturing of automatic transmission units. This promising project should create about 900 new jobs to the area during the next 5 years.
