BorgWarner Completes Acquisition of Sevcon
BorgWarner completed the takeover of Sevcon Company located in the UK. Having more than fifty years of proven record and efficiently operating development centers, Sevcon received a reputation of a welcomed partner for many companies interested in the fast-growing electrification market.
As a major enterprise in the field of electrification technologies Sevcon offers a great variety of microprocessor-based control systems for on and off-road cars, DC/DC converters and battery chargers used in electric cars as well as in marine and construction machinery. This bargain will combine efforts of both companies and will help in designing and manufacturing of electrified propulsion solutions for the auto industry. The approximate sum of the transaction is estimated at $200 mln. According to estimates, the purchase of Sevcon will push up sales of BorgWarner products by $45 million in 2018.
