Description

Most gear wheels have a round shape. To transfer motion seamlessly and with constant speed ratio at any time, contact-making areas of gear teeth must be shaped to a particular layout. If the pinion ( part of the gear set) is positioned on the driving shaft, the gear set operates to lower speed and increase torque; if the pinion is on the driven shaft the gear set tends to increase speed and to reduce torque
