The 7-speed dual-clutch transmission DQ381 with a pair of «wet» clutches is a "relative" of the DQ500 installed on Audi RS3 and TT RS. These transmissions have similar electro-hydraulic control unit and numerous gears. The DQ381 replaced the DQ250. It operates jointly with powerful diesel and gasoline engines. The maximum input torque reaches up to 420 Nm. This transmission is equipped with bearings and seals of reduced friction, transmission oil with lower viscosity and lower pressure in the lubrication system in order to improve fuel economy
