Eaton Cummins has recently reported that it
will soon hit the Chinese market with its upgraded version of its Endurant
12-speed AMT solution. The new product is notable for its retarder capacity and
a PTO mechanism.
Endurant 12-speed AMT
Eaton representatives emphasize the fact that the demand for AMTs in the commercial vehicle market is gaining momentum, and technologies implemented in the new Endurant product has a great potential and its operational characteristics will be able to satisfy even the most demanding customers. Moreover, technical peculiarities of this product will help Chinese producers of heavy vehicles to comply with strict emission rules.
The Endurant AMT has been created to be more
compact and effective, but at the same time guaranteeing solid torque transfer
capacity (2,650Nm). It is expected that this parameter will be even higher for
subsequent transmission solutions.
Eaton specialists equipped the new Endurant
with a variety of features designed to improve driving experience, such as
predictive shifting; an ATF pressure sensor that keeps track of the ATF level;
and a rear mount PTO opening for additional elements.
The new transmission unit ensures oil volume reduction (30%-50%) relative to its existing analogs and prolonged ATF change intervals by25-90%. Moreover, Eaton Cummins has developed the retarder, which is supposed to help vehicles to slow down in mountainous terrains.
