EMOSS Mobile Systems Applies Allison 4500 Gearbox in Electric Vehicle
EMOSS Mobile Systems has designed an electric semi-truck with installed Allison 4500 gearbox that has a capacity to cover over 300 miles on one charge.
Allison has a proven record of successful application of its hybrid and electric propulsion systems which provide the increased fuel economy and lower emissions. Therefore, usage of Allison gearbox is considered to be a prime attribute to the EMOSS product. EMOSS vehicle has a 120 kWh battery case and LPG generator for battery charging and covering maximum distance. Designed to operate with 6 forward speeds under full-load condition, the Allison transmission is crucial for transporting heavy cargos and driving through complicated road sections.
Due to multiplied torque produced by Allison gearbox, requisitions on the e-motor and the battery are significantly reduced. It allows the e-motor to function in the most efficient way, cut power consumption, prolong the car’s range and promote the use of budget-friendly and space-saving parts. At present time EMOSS designs e-trucks with Allison gearboxes for usage in construction, delivery and refuse applications.
