Landwind Releases Xiaoyao Equipped with VT5 Transmission

At the beginning of 2018, Landwind unveiled its brand-new car Xiaoyao. It is the 1-st car which is actually equipped with VT5 transmission. Xiaoyao is the 1-st car which is actually equipped with VT5 gearbox. This gearbox is notable for the largest available ratio coverage when comparing it with other competitive products.


The design of this car may include the 6-speed manual gearbox or Punch Powertrain's latest CVT named as VT5. The CVT is integrated with 1.5 TGDi engine. VT5 is constructed on the basis of well-known and trouble-proof VT3, and intended for even broader list of vehicles. This feature helps the whole powertrain to operate extremely efficiently. Another peculiarity of this gearbox is the presence of a torque converter that provides effective actuation and greater power of movement. In addition, engineers used 28 mm belt produced by Bosch to enhance the fuel economy by reducing losses in the CVT. It is expected that later this year Punch Powertrain will use VT5 in other possible variants, including 48V option.
