Nissan Brain-to-Vehicle Technology
Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer Nissan is working on a technology intended to advance reaction time parameters and as a result improve safety level as well as make driving more pleasing. This solution (currently named as Brain-to-Vehicle, or B2V) processes impulses from the driver’s brain that moves the “driver-car” interaction to the next level.
The technology will foresee driver’s intentions and help to perform any actions faster. Moreover, this innovation should help in estimation of driver’s health condition (attention level, etc.) by means of measuring system and sophisticated algorithms and help drivers to perform some actions autonomously when needed. To use this technology drivers have to wear a device measuring brain activity.
However, it is not the first attempt to bring brain waves into the driving experience: Renault and Jaguar as well as many other researchers previously tried to introduce these ideas in the car industry, but their efforts didn’t produce any substantial results. Nissan plans to present Brain-to-Vehicle technology simulator at CES 2018.
