Nissan Self-Driving Cars
Automotive driverless solution has been attracting more and more attention from auto makers and high-tech companies. Nissan is one of the most active car producers in this field. The company planned to launch production of autopilot cars by 2020. They have recently tested its self-driving car on London roads. With the help of 5 radars, 4 lasers, and 12 cameras the car followed prepared route, but this test-drive proved that there is still some work to do.
It is reported that open testing of this development will take place this year in Japan. This self-driving taxi vehicle will be constructed with the help of a technology company DeNA and equipped with cameras and sensors to prevent collisions and provide high level of safety. It is expected that the taxis will be designed on the basis of the popular electric vehicles Nissan Leaf and named as “Easy Ride”.
However, it doesn’t mean that this autonomous driving technology will deprive auto enthusiasts of driving experience, but help drivers to deal with extreme conditions and unexpected developments which may occur on the road.It is also worth noting that General Motors and Swedish manufacturer Volvo also plan to test their self-driving cars in the nearest future.
