2019 Mazda 6 Won't Have Manual Option In USA
Mazda has recently reported that the latest Mazda 6 model won't have a manual transmission option because of a sluggish demand for manuals among customers in the US.
Due to
financial consideration Mazda was forced to join the trend of automation for
the US market. Thus, American fans of cars with manual transmissions have one
less option to choose from.

According to official representatives of the company, the 6-speed manual option won’t be included for the 2019 Mazda 6 model due to a poor competitive ability of cars with manual transmissions on the American market. As a result, the 2019 Mazda6 will have only automatic option. But, this strategic move will be valid only for the USA. However, the company does not exclude the possibility of the manual Mazda 6 return to the American market, if it will be driven by demand. Mazda also assured fans of manual cars that the company does not consider removal of manual transmission options for its new 2019 Mazda3 Premium Hatchback and MX-5 Miata models.

Despite the
fact that this step from Mazda was perceived negatively by many Mazda admirers,
it seems like a reasonable move the Japanese Auto Giant, since manual sedans
cannot be competitive with automatic variants in the US. American customers
give preference to SUVs and cars with automatic transmissions which are much
easier to drive, thereby compelling automakers to change their strategic
approaches in in the pursuit of profit.
However, there is a good news for admirers of manual cars: Honda still sells its well-known Accord models with a manual transmission option. Unfortunately, that’s about the only option.
