Aisin AW Invests in Its US Division
Aisin AW Co., Ltd. plans to provide significant financial support to its automatic transmission manufacturing facilities in the US to increase the competitiveness of its products and to enhance the manufacturing capacity of the American division located in North Carolina.
For more than two decades of its great history,
AW North Carolina produced about 6.7 million RWD and FWD transmissions. In fact, there
are two Aisin’s manufacturing facilities in North Carolina (Durham plant and
Creedmoor plant).

The
company does not simply provide reliable automatic gear shifting solutions, but
also embeds cutting-edge control technologies. The design of the transmission
internals is fully optimized to reduce the weight of the unit and to save
additional space. Thus, these transmission solutions can find application on a
wide range of car models.

The American subsidiary of Aisin employs
approx.900 specialists and annually produces about 200,000 transmission units.
It is assessed that the investments will account for USD 400 million. The
company wants to improve the quality of its products and to establish a
suitable environment for professional development of the staff.
