Allison Transmission and Chevrolet Strengthen Cooperation
Recently, Allison Transmission, the leading international producer of commercial duty automatic gearboxes, together with Chevrolet announced the availability of a ten-speed automatic gearbox in the new Chevrolet trucks. The 2020 Silverado HD model with the automatic gearbox will be officially presented in winter 2019.

was showcased at the Detroit Auto Show in mid-January 2018. Now it’s the turn
of the Silverado HD version. The truck will have 2 engine options,
but characteristics of only one option are known so far. We’re talking about
the 6.6 liter Duramax V8 turbo-diesel with the power of 451 hp. and torque of
1,234 Nm. This engine will be coupled with the 10-speed automatic gearbox
provided by Allison (the same engine is installed in GMC Sierra). As for the
second engine option, it is known that it will be a new gasoline engine with
direct fuel injection. This engine will be coupled with the 6-speed automatic
gearbox offered by Allison.
The new 2020 Silverado HD is produced to comply with requirements of potential customers. Thanks to the collaboration with Allison, admirers of Chevrolet trucks can expect trouble-free gear shifting experience.
