Allison Transmission produces the 500,000th Transmission of 4000 Series
Allison Transmission reached a remarkable point of half a million manufactured 4000 Series automatic transmissions. The company started manufacturing these transmissions in 1993 and gained profits from widespread application of this product in commercial-duty vehicles.
Transmissions of 4000 series are characterized by high efficiency and reliability, the maximum engine power can reach up to 522 kW (700 hp). This transmission may have up to 7 gears, including overdrive, as well as a second reverse gear. Options with a narrow and wide range of gear ratios as well as engine-driven power take-off mechanism significantly simplify things for drivers. Additional features such as built-in retarder and upgraded electronic control system of the 5-th generation make it possible to adapt 4000 series automatic transmissions to operation in different conditions.
