Aston Martin to recall over 5,000 cars
In the beginning of 2018, the British company Aston Martin plans to recall about 5,500 vehicles in the USA. According to Reuters, the cause of this measure is related to issues with wiring and gearbox.
The recall campaign will include, DBS, DB9, Virage, Rapide, and the flagship Vanquish released in 2009-16. Representatives of Aston Martin said that sport cars to be recalled have a defect leading to the “Park” mode failure. As a result of this malfunction, the car may start moving independently, for example on a slope, and cause road accidents. Moreover, DB9 and DBS modifications have a flaw in cables for the accumulator unit connection which increases the fire risk. Aston Martin specialists will start free-of-charge repairs for vehicles included in the recall list from February 1, 2018. Representatives of the company informed that there is no information about accidents or injuries due to these issues.
