BorgWarner Supplies Electric Motor and Gearbox for Fuso Electric Truck
BorgWarner provides its e-motor HVH250 and eGearDrive gearbox for primary production of Fuso eCanter trucks, the 1-st mass manufactured fully electric light truck. For implementation of this idea BorgWarner specialists have been cooperating with Fuso, the Japanese manufacturer of trucks and buses.
It is reported that about 200 models of this truck are currently tested on urban roads. The large-scale series production of the e-truck is scheduled for 2019. Due to construction peculiarities and the gear train of high capacity, the gearbox offered by BorgWarner requires less energy, thus prolonging possible mileage of the car on a single charge. The gearbox also can handle high input speeds and provides many gear ratios for the most suitable speed-up variants. HVH250 provides high torque and energy density.
New Fuso eCanter responds to the need for solutions which will contribute to solving the problem of CO2 emission. It provides a promising and commercially viable replacement for IC engines. The appearance of such solutions is another step in application of more efficient and environment-oriented tech achievements in the auto industry.
