Cadillac Offers a Manual Option for V-Series
Finding a new car equipped with a manual transmission is not an easy task. Nowadays, more and more customers opt for more comfortable automatic cars and in the pursuit of profit many automakers have to drop manuals to stay competitive on the market. New advanced features make automatics more efficient in almost all essential parameters, thereby forcing manuals out of the market. However, the manual gearbox isn’t dead yet, and it appears Cadillac will do its part to keep it alive.

According to recent media reports, Cadillac’s new V-Series will include a manual option; however, chances are slim that a manual option will be available for the new CT4-V and CT5-V. But it is rumored that the fresh V-Series sedans, namely CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing, are likely to get three pedals. This news will certainly give joy to admirers of V-Series who’ve been confused by Cadillac’s repositioning of the brand. On the one hand, the new CT4-V and CT5-V models released earlier this year make the V-Series models more low-cost, becoming an effective substitute for the V-Sport line, but on the other hand, these V Series models are notable for lack of sufficient power, but not all hope is lost.
Blackwing engine
Both Blackwing modifications will be a suitable replacement for high performance versions ATS-V and CTS-V. Thanks to its solid performance characteristics the Blackwing engine (550 hp and 850 Nm of torque) paired with a manual transmission will be a recipe for a fun-filled drive. The future of Cadillac as well as the vast majority of famous brands remains uncertain, as the whole industry goes through the period of transition. E-mobility and self-driving cars seem like getting closer and closer. Earlier this year, GM said that Cadillac would be in charge of the company’s EV development. Pairing a 550-hp V8 engine to a manual transmission would b e an ideal farewell song before EVs take over.
