First Ferrari's Hybrid Vehicle Gets an Innovative Transmission from Magna
Magna has designed and provides a cutting-edge
dual-clutch (DCT) 8-speed transmission (named as 8DCL900) for the SF90 Stradale
model - Ferrari’s 1-st plug-in hybrid sports car ever – with the purpose of
ensuring better torque and gear shifting capacity.
This sophisticated unit features enabling
innovations, such as the cellular casing structure, which is supposed to cut
cars’ weight by approximately 10 kg and enhance its performance characteristics.
The transmission will also make it possible to decrease the level of harmful
emissions. This DCT brings the gear shifting technology to a new level for
sports cars.
