Recently, Geely has entered into cooperation with the British company Ricardo aimed to develop, produce and integrate a new sophisticated gearbox solution for hybrid cars with expanded capacities. The essential demands for the endeavor will be enhanced performance rates and competitive price for cars equipped with future gearbox solutions.


Within the framework of this initiative, both parties will assemble teams of specialists involving Geely and Ricardo highly-skilled engineers based in the UK and in China. This kind of cooperation contributes to improved interaction between specialists and optimization of problem solving processes, and helps to achieve outlined objectives.

In addition to specifically gathered teams of specialists of both companies, the project will be supported by Ricardo’s tech hubs. Ricardo’s participation in the project will include the work on the mechanical engineering, control and adjustment of the new gearbox solution.


According to Ricardo officials, the British company is excited to join Geely specialists for this promising project. Geely has gained recognition as one of the most innovative car manufacturers in China, and it is a company that shares Ricardo’s passion for promotion of innovative solutions in the automobile industry.
