Honda Transmission Mfg. of America Obtains EPA ENERGY STAR certification
Honda Transmission Mfg. of America (HTM) is the 1-st transmission production facility based in the USA to gain EPA ENERGY STAR certification. This business receives more than 10% of its power supply from local wind-driven turbines.
It’s been a several years since HTM has become
the 1-st major automotive production enterprise in the US to generate a
significant volume of its e-power straightly from windmills based on its
territory. Now, HTM is the 1-st US-based producer of gear shifting solutions to
obtain ENERGY STAR certificate.
In addition to the idea of using 2 sources of
alternative energy (with the capacity of 1.7MW) on its territory, the company also
improved its power usage effectiveness by adopting a rational utility
arrangement and supervision plan. This measure helps to ensure efficient tracking
of energy utilization and more economical usage of energy-consuming hardware.

HTM managed to lower power consumption thanks to substantial lowering in energy intake for non-production activities. The annual manufacturing capacity of this facility is estimated at more than 850,000 gearboxes and other related products for 4WD vehicles.
The EPA introduced new ENERGY STAR norms for
businesses such as Honda’s transmission facility for 2019, and HTM promptly
gained the certification via the EPA’s early-registration period. This
certificate means that the plant falls into the category of businesses, which
actively use environmentally-friendly power sources. It is the 1-st certification
program in the US territory based on confirmed energy efficiency. This
certification program helps businesses to connect with its customers, lower
operating costs, get higher income, reduce harmful emissions.
