Jatco’s Cumulative CVT Manufacturing in China Reaches Five Million Units
The representatives of the Japanese company Jatco reported that its Chinese production branch JATCO Guangzhou has recently released the 5-th million CVT. The Chinese subsidiary started production of cumulative CVTs in 2009.
At the present time, the workforce consisting of 2 thousand specialists manufactures Jatco’s CVT7 and CVT8 transmissions in the quantity of 1 million units per year. About 6 years ago, JATCO Guangzhou opened the quality control department to satisfy the requirements of the fast-growing Chinese market and manufacture even more competitive products. Today the Chinese branch of Jatco takes an active role in market analysis, research and development work, manufacturing, realization of products, quality survey, contributing to implementation of Jatco’s general strategy. Several years ago JATCO Guangzhou started a large-scale production of an entirely new Jatco CVT7 W/R. It was the 1-st product roll-out performed at the external production facility. According to the company’s officials, the Japanese “Auto Giant” is not ready to rest and will put even more efforts into enhancement of its products and their promotion in the Chinese market.
JATCO CVTs
A special mention should go to CVTs developed and produced by Jatco. Jatco CVTs are very popular among Japanese and European automakers. Thanks to improved design and extensive use of automation, it became possible to significantly reduce fuel consumption without any negative impact on dynamic characteristics. In addition, modern CVTs have the manual gear-shifting simulation mode, which allows drivers to change the operation mode of the transmission and improves dynamics. Jatco CVTs also have special modes, which eliminate slippage of the transmission when driving on soft snow and off-the-road. It is not surprising that Jatco CVTs gained popularity all over the world.
ABOUT JATCO
The Japanese company Jatco is one of the
largest producers of automatic transmissions and CVTs. Currently, 75 % of
Jatco’s shares belong to the Japanese automaker Nissan, which actively
integrates Jatco transmissions in its vehicles. In addition, Jatco
transmissions found application in Mitsubishi, Honda, Suzuki, numerous European
and American cars.
The main area of specialty of this Japanese
manufacturer is the production of inexpensive compact automatic transmissions,
which are installed in budget-priced cars. Jatco transmissions proved to be
extremely reliable, easy to maintain and repair. Thanks to compact dimensions,
these transmissions can be used in small city cars. The high level of
fail-safety was achieved with the help of Jatco’s engineering developments and
cutting-edge technologies that ensure the possibility of using automatic
transmissions in the most severe modes of operation.
It should be noted that Jatco’s automatic transmissions
are equipped with numerous automatic control systems and all kinds of sensors,
which monitor the transmission performance. The implemented valve body and an
innovative design of friction clutches with drums allow performing smooth gear
shifting with improved fuel economy while driving a car. Solenoids used in
these transmissions have improved characteristics and lower quality
requirements to an ATF used in the vehicle. Thus, it is possible to increase
the interval between transmission maintenance services. Transmission repair
specialists recommend changing of ATF every 60-80 thousand kilometers.
