The AIA award is a major event dedicated to the auto sector innovations in Holland. The award is handed out in 3 main nominations. The professional jury estimates nominees on the following criteria: innovativeness, significance for mobility, economic viability, and practical application. The award was established in 2015 by major players in the Dutch auto business to intensify development of innovative solutions in the local auto sector and draw attention of authorities to this important development trend. The list of the award ceremony guests usually includes: manufacturing companies, suppliers, tech businesses, and representatives of public authorities.
The award-winning DT2 is an innovative
transmission solution that integrates an assist hybrid unit. The economically
viable DT2 gearbox is based on the dual clutch principle. Thanks to the modular
design, this gearbox can be paired with different types of electric motors.
Every application doesn’t need complex adjustment procedures, therefore by
selecting the DT2 gearbox automakers have a room for maneuver in terms of
design.
It also should be mentioned that not long ago
the Belgian manufacturer of gearbox solutions entered into an agreement with
the PSA Group for building the production facility specialized in manufacturing
hybrid transmissions. Hybrid transmissions developed by Punch Powertrain will
be produced for the French automaker starting from 2022. It is expected that
the plant’s annual output capacity will reach 600 thousand units.
