Probably every transmission repair specialist was keen on LEGO constructions or at least enjoyed making some minor things with their hands. Here's the game taken to a new level of creativity!

Modern auto industry is full of sophisticated drivetrain technologies which are supposed to make your driving experience even more pleasant and trouble-free. Despite a great abundance of sophisticated technical solutions, it is highly likely that very few people know a transmission solution operating like a manual CVT.

Over recent years engineers developed a lot of gear shifting solutions for different car brands, which may seem a bit unusual for oldtime drivers. In this article we will review the most peculiar gear stick technologies and provide video materials related to these technologies.

Only few people know about transmission concepts which were popular 70-90 years ago. For men of today, these gearboxes may seem very unusual and weird, but even now some gearboxes that date back to those years are quite competitive in comparison with modern transmissions.

Nowadays Extroid CVTs are commonly known as “toroidal” due to the fact that the working surface of driving and driven discs in this transmission has the form of a torus. Extroid CVT is not a V-belt transmission, but a friction drive CVT.

April Fool's Day with Hydra-Test Team: Piston Bonder for Pizza Making

The time of April fool's jokes has passed, but we want to share with you a cool lifehack from the Hydra-Test team on how to make a pizza in the torque converter piston bonder.

How to have fun on April Fool’s day when you are involved in development of highly complex testing equipment for automatic transmissions which requires all your attention and precision? The Hydra-test team has come up with the idea how to step aside from daily routine: MAKE A PIZZA on the Hydra-Torque piston bonder.

Hydra-Torque PB 2.1 - Piston Bonder

Originally, this machine is used by transmission repair specialists in the process of the torque converter rebuilding, namely replacement of friction material. PB 2.1 is a universal system for automatic transmission repair shops. This advanced solution uses halogen bulbs which makes it highly efficient in terms of energy economy. This unit is equipped with a set of adapters that are fitted to provide required pressure over friction components during the process of bonding. Thanks to great operational characteristics of this unit, torque converter rebuilders can fix up to 300+ torque Converters per month, but not on April Fool's Day!

Even forever busy technicians of the Hydra-Test team know a simple rule: you are not yourself when you are hungry. So you can see how out-of-box thinking and some cooking skills helped to transform the piston bonder into pizza machine!

PS. If your torque converter repair business is no longer profitable, remember that you can always become a pizza maker!)
