The 4-speed automatic transmission Renault DP8 was designed in 2013 on the basis of the popular transmission DP2. This transmission is intended for low-cost AWD Renault-Nissan cars. It was installed on Duster, Kaptur, and Terrano. The DP8 is manufactured at the French plant in STA in Ruitz. The DP2 is notable for an additional angle gear unit, which transmits torque to the rear axle via the cardan shaft. This transmission also has a trouble-free ZF torque converter, enhanced differential, and an additional air-oil cooling circuit allows to avoid the transmission overheating.
