ATI Provides New Casing Solution for T350
Transmission
Since 4-speed automatic transmissions first
appeared, 2-speed automatics have almost become obsolete. No doubt that these
simple but powerful transmissions are still popular among some drag racers, but
it becomes a real problem when it is required to find these units on the
market. While it is still possible to visit a local junkyard, find a used unit
(if you are lucky), and to have it reconditioned, it may be not the best
solution.
Thanks to the use of advanced technologies,
modern sports cars are notable for impressive performance capacities. High power
may lead to some serious issues, when it comes to using junkyard transmissions.
To begin with, cases of old gear shifting units are not intended to handle huge
amounts of power generated by modern engines. Even if you resort to using
modified transmission parts, you are still using original casing to keep all of
those moving elements together.

The 2-nd possible issue with using an old
casing is that it will be necessary to apply a scatter shield, if the
transmission housing cannot perform its direct functions. However, the majority
of aftermarket shields don’t match inside stock gearbox tunnels.
Luckily, ATI Performance Products is ready to give owners of performance cars a helping hand. With the scarcity of Turbo 350s on the market, you can now buy an innovative housing solution directly from ATI. The all-new Turbo 350 Super Case and bell housings also exclude the need to apply a scatter shield thanks to the use of thick cast aluminum. ATI representative says that the company started producing new spare parts for this transmission so you can assemble a gear shifting unit that will comply with your needs.
