Recently, representatives of Allison Transmissions have reported that the company’s automatic gearboxes are selected by Navistar International for its brand-new medium truck, the International MV Series. According to Navistar, Allison fully automatic gearboxes will be applied in the new truck as a standard solution with all engines.


Thanks to high quality and excellent operational capacities of its products, today Allison is a major developer, manufacturer and supplier of fully automatic gearboxes and hybrid powertrain units for medium and heavy commercial trucks. Therefore, Navistar engineers regard Allison automatic gearboxes as an ideal solution for MV trucks, and they jointly with colleagues from Allison have put a great deal of effort to ensure the right-scale adaptation of gearboxes to MV Series truck chassis.


Navistar presented the new range of MV trucks at the Work Truck Show 2018. Introduction of new trucks became the final stage of the project Horizon, which is aimed at upgrade of the company’s truck range and introduction of advanced technologies. MV Series trucks are equipped with a digital display, which renders all necessary information on the control panel. The relevant information on different truck parameters can be received from 15 different sensors; this allows drivers to monitor the vehicle status in real time.

MV trucks have the electronic system Diamond Logic, which facilitates to the increased vehicle efficiency and safety of the driver. In addition, this electronic system simplifies the process of integration of chassis and different mounted equipment. Thus, Diamond Logic solution ensures the maximum compatibility of the MV truck with almost two hundred different options of body superstructures. MV trucks can be fitted with 6-cylinder diesel engines Cummins B6.7 or Cummins L9 with the capacity of 6.7 and 8.9 liters respectively, and the power from 200 to 450 hp.
