Volkswagen Changes Compliance System
According to the latest estimates, VW spent a fortune (about $30 billion) on addressing consequences of the scandal caused by application of illegal software.
This wrongdoing helped to reduce the level of harmful gases emission by several times during tests and as a result to bypass approved standards. The software was used in more than eleven millions of VW diesel cars distributed worldwide. In order to avoid such expensive mistakes the German auto manufacturer decided to change the structure of its compliance systems. It has been reported that previously VW brands used twenty five distinct compliance systems. Thus, it was decided to introduce a single compliance system that will facilitate monitoring process and speed up problem solution.
