Transmission issues in Ford F-150 have recently led to a legal action against the automaker. According to the case materials, hard and erratic shifts of a failure-prone 10-speed automatic transmission (10R80) installed in popular American trucks triggered whiplashes.

In the latest Powershift-related judicial case, a couple, who pulled out of the class-action lawsuit, filed a lawsuit against Ford in connection with the problematic gearbox installed in their 2014 Focus car.


Recently, several former and current Ford tech specialists have told the media that "everyone knew" about the faulty automatic transmissions in the Fiesta and Focus models. It is claimed that despite the fact that the issue was not a big secret before the cars hit the market, the company recommended its employees not to go public about this problem.

Fans of sports cars usually do not take electric vehicles (EV) seriously due to their usual lack of manual transmissions (in fact, EVs do not need this component at all), but Ford has come up with an interesting idea to change this attitude.
