Recently unveiled results of test drives of a midibus that come with Allison’s xFE transmission hardware and FuelSense® 2.0 software have allowed to achieve improved fuel economy. The months-long field tests proved cost-effectiveness of using Allison’s upgrade package in midibuses.

Thanks to huge experience and high proficiency, BW engineers came up with the Torque-Vectoring Dual-Clutch unit, which contains 2 clutches, replacing the standard differential unit in an electric driveline. Conventional torque-vectoring solutions need 2 e-machines in the rear, which are quite pricy and weighty, while BW’s technology saves weight and space in the driveline, having a positive impact on total efficiency of the car.

Allison Transmission plans to showcase its fully automatic transmissions intended for different types of commercial vehicles at the upcoming Solutrans 2019 exhibition. During the event, the company will demonstrate models of the 3000 and 4000 Series units.
