There are so many problems with electrification development. No infrastructure, no stations to charge the batteries. And charging takes too long. Also, many cars don’t match the charger, many vehicles have to
Continuously variable transmissions (CVT) made a true revolution in the world of automotive industry. However, CVTs weren’t used widely due to lack of synchronization between the driving shaft and other internal parts. This issue led to cutting of gearing teeth, lack of alignments, and complete wedging. This major problem was solved with the help of the stepper motor specially designed for CVTs.
At the 18th International VDI Congress “Drivetrain for Vehicles”, Schaeffler is showcasing its products for IC-engine, hybrid, and electrified powertrains, which will give a new impulse to further development of automobile technologies corresponding to current environmental standards.
The German company ZF, one of the world’s leading suppliers of components for the automotive industry, has recently showcased its new hybrid transmission eAMT. This product is intended for budgetary FWD vehicles. The experimental model of the eAMT was installed on the crossover Renault Duster.
The car automatic transmission consists of
numerous moving elements which require not only high-quality lubrication, but
also efficient cooling. The automatic transmission oil pump helps to maintain the
necessary system pressure and to increase the efficiency of lubrication with
increasing RPM rate of the engine shaft.
CRP Automotive, a major source of OE-quality change and service parts, now offers two new Pentosin ATF solutions for Mercedes applications. Recently, it has transpired that Ford plans to list for sale its French production facility specialized in manufacturing of gearboxes – Ford Aquitaine Industries (FAI) – because of a falling demand for compact automatic gearboxes in Europe.
The
Viscous Coupling (VC) is the transmission component intended for transmission
and leveling of torque from the center drive shaft to the front differential,
and on to the front wheels. In contrast to the hydraulic coupling and torque
converter, the VC uses a different operating principle: torque is transmitted
not through dynamic properties of fluid flow, but thanks to viscous properties
of the fluid, which fills the internal space of the VC.
Car transmission technologies are developing at a growing rate and should be serviced with the help of more advanced and efficient diagnostic and repair equipment. Therefore, Cottingham Engineering specialists came up with the idea to refurbish old valve body testing machines (first of all, those running on VBDaq and E-ZEE Shift) for company’s customers or simply to buy unused Hydratest machines and find an appropriate application for them.
Commonly, automatic transmissions go into failsafe mode in case of severe system disruptions to protect the powertrain from damage and to inform the car owner about the necessity to visit the automobile repair shop as soon as possible. In this article we will consider the main peculiarities of the automatic transmission failsafe mode, and delve into the possible causes of this issue.
Recently, it has transpired that Liuzhou ZF Machinery Co., Ltd. Modern auto industry is full of sophisticated drivetrain technologies which are supposed to make your driving experience even more pleasant and trouble-free. Despite a great abundance of sophisticated technical solutions, it is highly likely that very few people know a transmission solution operating like a manual CVT.
Over recent years engineers developed a lot of gear shifting solutions for different car brands, which may seem a bit unusual for oldtime drivers. In this article we will review the most peculiar gear stick technologies and provide video materials related to these technologies.
Only few people know about transmission concepts which were popular 70-90 years ago. For men of today, these gearboxes may seem very unusual and weird, but even now some gearboxes that date back to those years are quite competitive in comparison with modern transmissions.
Nowadays Extroid CVTs are commonly known as “toroidal” due to the fact that the working surface of driving and driven discs in this transmission has the form of a torus. Extroid CVT is not a V-belt transmission, but a friction drive CVT.
